- The tournament will be a BTBA YOUTH BOWLING ENGLAND TOUR event. Tournament and general playing rules of the BTBA will govern this tournament, together with the following Special Rules and Conditions.
- Closing date for entries is 23:59 on the 21st DECEMBER 2025 and any incomplete entries will not be allocated spaces in a squad until all information is supplied and the entry has been paid in full. Entry fees will not be refunded once players have been allocated to a squad. Preference will go to clubs bowling on one day and clubs travelling more than 80 miles. Entry may still be possible after the closing date, contact must be made via the Contact Us page to check. Event spaces will not be held without the submission of a complete entry form.
- Registration will be 30 minutes prior to bowling. If all bowlers are present and registered, then bowling may commence earlier than the published squad times. Tardy players will commence play at the frame in progress as directed by the Tournament Manager.
- DRESS CODE – YBE dress code statement: https://btba.org.uk/ybe/ybe-dress-code/ The Tournament manager will have the final say on acceptable / unacceptable dress.
- No competitor will be allowed to smoke or consume alcoholic beverages anywhere in the centre during the tournament. Any breach of this rule will result in immediate disqualification of the individual from the tournament. Profane language or abuse of bowling equipment or machinery may also result in disqualification. Any disqualification may result in the loss of scores and awards.
- Any individual so disqualified will be reported to the BTBA for consideration of disciplinary proceedings.
- Protests of any nature must be lodged by the YBC registered official/player with the Tournament Manager within 30 minutes of the infraction occurring and confirmed in writing before the presentation commences. A provisional ball must be rolled if a dispute relating to pinfall cannot be resolved immediately. Only tournament officials and one licensed instructor/coach for any YBC, are allowed in the seating area, for any event, dressed in correct attire as per rule 4.
- This tournament is open to bowlers under 20 as at 31st December 2026. Double teams from different YBCs and including U20 players will also be accepted as well as mixed YBC teams. Entries will also be accepted from the National Team squads at U19 EYC and U22 WYC levels (the tournament age limits still apply). These teams must also fill in a separate entry form with payment to secure a place in the team event.
- All bowlers need to have completed all of their tournament entry before they will be permitted to become pacers.
- Handicaps will be based on 80% of the difference between the average and 210. The highest average attained over 15 games must be used, whether junior, adult or merit, and a league standing sheet (screenshot, document, or link) to verify the average must be included with all entries. An unverified average will result in the players rolling off scratch. The Tournament Manager/Committee reserves the right to accept, re-rate or reject any entry and their decision on all matters including protests and or any other questions shall be final, subject to the right of appeal to the BTBA.
- Both Free Fall and String averages will be accepted without differentiation.
- No bowler will be able to receive awards for both scratch and handicap in the same event, i.e. Scratch 3rd place will take precedence over Handicap 1st place.
- A perpetual trophy will be awarded to the YBC of the Tournament – defined as the best behaved (on and off the lanes) & best presented YBC. Behavior and presentation of the club’s bowlers, officials, coaches, and supporters will be taken into account when deciding this award.
- In the event of a tie all winners will receive an award, with the exception of the perpetual trophies, where the trophy will be shared for the relative period by each YBC/individual.
- Recipients of any perpetual awards must return them, engraved where appropriate, in good condition. Recipients (or their club) will be asked to pay for any repairs or a replacement as needed.
- Memberships will be checked on the BTBA database. Only tournament officials and one licensed coach will be allowed in the players area, see BTBA Tournament rule 330.
- Only food and drink purchased on the premises are to be consumed within the premises, unless agreed in person with the centre management.
- The Tournament Manager will be Simon Herbert. The tournament committee will also include Andy Penny and Karen Herbert.
